Welcome from our Executive Director
Sheri's House of Hope Under New Leadership
Hello!
My name is Lorena Chavarria and I am the new Executive Director of Sheri's House of Hope! I am excited to begin this journey and bring with me almost 10 years of working in the non-profit world. My last station was at United Way of Lea County as their 211 Program Manager and Impact Coordinator. Although I've left United Way, I am ready to bring my experience in program development, my connection to our community, and a passion for bringing awareness to the issue of domestic violence in Lea County.
Lorena's Vision
My vision for Sheri's House of Hope is that the women and children that come through our program come to live a life free of domestic violence. I am eager to implement a program that focuses on areas such as case management, advocacy, counseling, financial education, soft and hard skill development, health, education, and career building. I believe that with some guidance and support, the women and children in our home have the opportunity to lead successful, happy, and safe lives.
For the Community
Again, I am ready to create meaningful change in our community, and am ready to bring awareness to domestic violence.
I look forward to working out in the community and am enthusiastic to begin my journey with Sheri's House of Hope.
With Excitement,
Lorena
